The Pecos Multi-Agency SWAT team is composed of highly motivated Peace Officers from the Reeves County Sheriff Office, Pecos Police Department and 143rd District Attorney's Office. SWAT stands for Special Weapons and Tactics, and SWAT team members train in many areas such as marksmanship, less-lethal devices, first aid, negotiations and roping techniques (such as rappelling), as well as the use of specialized equipment and weapons. The SWAT team is also highly trained to carry out dangerous missions such as rescuing hostages, serving hi-risk Felony arrest warrants, and subduing criminals who are armed beyond the capacity of regular police officers. The SWAT team is focused on tactical solutions to safely resolving critical incidents.
